what about the cultural recession?

Where have all the musicians with inspirational firebrand do or die unique light giving gods and godesses gone?

2010 sees the U.K and pretty much the world over with

nothing but a pile of derivitive wet fish using music as a vehicule

to drive to them towards some holy grail of celebrity.

Looking at that clip of the marching bland depress the red carpet at the brits nominations, I feel proud to have a known another time of music when

the middle of the road was a shameful place to stand, Props to Dido to have the initiative to make her comeback with a new name and a snazzy top from dorothy perkins

Ellie Goulding must be Didos Ziggy Stardust persona. Smart move.

is this a problem that gets worst with every generation? are human personalities getting blander as the more mums pop out unwanted children and

pram them round westfield shopping centre? is evolution and the digital takeover rapidly wiping out unique personalities and outrageousness from the food chain?

BEWARE THE APOCOLYPSE of ORIGINALITY!

That said, Gaga, florence, roux, I honor you for breeding the different race. Keep it up.

I cannot sum up what buffy-sainte marie means to me without spending the next month of my life researching every small detail of her life and reciting all my favourite lyrics of hers.

Her music has not only changed the world

Pioneered the art of the "singer/songwriter"

She was the original Patti Smith, The original Dylan.

A song that breaks my heart, the most empathy filled protest song

A close spiritual relative of Joni Mitchells "Fiddle and the Drum" I think.

The reason why I decided to write about Buffy and will continue to so much on this blog

Is that I took an early morning walk to buy the papers and buffy has the been

the soundtrack to many a life changing morning and evening walk

her album "illuminations" which I will write about in detail one day soon

is a sonic cornucopia of beauty and magick

for those that love vespertine by bjork and diamanda galas

would love this album

illuminations, released in 1969 and available on itunes and of course on vinyl and cd

I recommend for pure obsessiveness to buy the vinyl copy and put in pride

of place upon your mantlepiece while listening to your download

the message is so powerful and inspiring

Buffy makes me so happy and inspired that I as an individual on this planet can make a difference

even by staying positive on issues of ecology and politics

To not be afraid to be proud of my ethnicity and my folklore

the phrase "those that live in glass houses should not throw stones"

comes to mind when reading peter tatchell's disappointless telegraph article

an icon of freedom and inspiration to many shouldn't be

brought down to a the trivialities of their circumstances while

living on the earth. I think quentin spread alot of love and light in his own way

when he was here on the planet. beautiful creatures that strive to protect their

innocence, magic or beauty in a hard unforgiving world often end up

developing very hard exteriors and fierce claws in the face of hard cold times and attitudes

quentin must be remembered, as we all should when we leave this earth

for the good that we did. peoples mistakes are there for us to learn from

not to persecute with.

Cooking With Lady A

Let me introduce our guest writer, Lady A, chief on all things domestic, empathetic and

classy. The domestic goddess with no faith in the domestic but is trying her hardest.

Raised in the prisons and paradises of the 50's way of thought that a well to-do family

must have everything done for them.

Today Lady A tries to cook herself a light lunch snack while her husband is away.

Hello there dear readers

to the left is my vain attempt at making

the recipe of the day

"eggybread"

inspired by christmas excess of watching

endless streams of bbc comedy

after returning from the tropics

I was suprised to come across

a recipe I remembered from my childhood

on a program called gavin and stacey

so in the dull days before

new years eve

may i recommend you start adding to your already

fat saturated body Xmas-Xterminated soul with a little Lady A comfort food.

for a single hungover or heartbroken boy or girl

two slices of bread

two eggs

whisk them eggs well

Get a good wide deep pan and heat

pour olive oil in or let butter melt

lay the two slices of bread on the pan

think a bit

then pour the egg mixture on top

look romantically, repeatedly out the window at the rain and think about what you

want to do tonight or if you should call an old friend

turn with bacon tongs (no fingers please your ragamuffins.. hot pan!)

then make sure it looks cooked.

get a brightly colored plate

winter is dark

you need to surround yourself with color

to remind yourself of florescence and summer

put some ketchup on it! KETCHUP!

then eat

This winter. When I am alone. I put on joni mitchells "clouds" album on vinyl.

listening side a from "Tin Angel" through to "Roses Blue"

will ease digestion and stop you from repeatedly checking your facebook status

and also make your heart feel like it is being sung to by a best friend for 15 minutes
